Sucre
Colonial town and an impressive gastronomic experience
The trip from Uyuni was fairly long and we arrived in Sucre at 9:30pm. Having been on the road since 5am, I was exhausted and ready to sleep. I checked in to the hostel and met up with Morgan. There was a loud party full of Germans, but I was able to pass out right away.
I mostly did some work during the next day. In the afternoon I walked a bit around in the center. Sucre is a beautiful city.
At night, Morgan and I went to Nativa, a restaurant recommended to us by someone staying at our hostel. This was an amazing experience, with an exquisite 6-course meal and 6 alcoholic parings for a 100 bolivianos (equivalent to $14.4)!! After dinner, we went to a salsa club, Joy Ride, for some drinking and salsa dancing.
The next day, we hiked up Cerro Churuquella for a panoramic view of the city, and in the afternoon, I worked.
At around 7:15pm, Morgan and I took a cab to the bus terminal to catch our 8:00pm bus to La Paz. This is a 12-hour overnight bus and we booked cama seat (fully reclining seat similar to a single bed.)
