Quito
Tensions are rising
In Quito, the hostel I chose was lively, a big change from the quiet of Latacunga. There were lots of fun activities (such as Salsa dancing classes, group lunches and dinners), but there was an eerie feeling. I kept telling myself this is an overreaction and things will go back to normal soon.
Over the next few days, on top of working, I walked around Quito, but found it underwhelming. I did not enjoy the food in Ecuador much, but found a delicious Lebanese restaurant.
I wanted to go to a secluded hostel in Cotopaxi that offers hiking trips, but it seems that their internet connection is restrictive, which isn't great for work. The situation was also getting a bit more serious and things were shutting down in Quito. There were talks of closing the borders over the next few days. So 4 of us from the hostel decided to make our way to Colombia.
