Lima

Relaxing at sea level

After almost missing my flight chilling in the lounge, I landed in Lima at around noon and took a long Uber ride to my hostel in Miraflores. I checked in and did some work. At night, I met Ester on the rooftop for a beer and we were joined by Lindsey (American) who just arrived to Lima that day and was in Peru for just a week.

The hostel organizes a daily BBQ, but there weren't enough people wanting to participate that day, so we went to a sister hostel, a few blocks away. Morgan was just arriving to Lima from Huaraz, and he joined us for dinner.

On Saturday, Lindsey and I did the Lima center walking tour starting at 9:30am. Lima is very large and we didn't make it back to our hostel until 2pm.

I then met Morgan for lunch, we chilled in the hostel for a bit and then went for a run on the beautiful waterfront. At night, Ester, Lindsey and I went for dinner (sandwiches) and then for some drinks.

On Sunday, Morgan and I went for ceviche lunch and then walked around trying to find cheap hiking gear. At night, we took the bus to Barranco, a bohemian district of Lima where we drank watching the sunset and then had dinner.

I mostly spent Monday in the hostel working. I night I went for a solo dinner, trying the Nikkei cuisine, which is a fusion between peruvian and japanese food.

On Tuesday morning, I worked and then took a 9-hour bus to Huaraz.
