Pastel de Nata, initial Sintra visit, and huge waves in Nazare

We arrived around 9PM to Lisbon, and checked in to our hotel. We met Sultan for dinner, and then went to an Irish pub for music.

The next day, Maggie and I pretty much walked everywhere. We visited Baixa, Chaido, Bairro Alto, Alfama, and Belém for delicious, freshly baked Pastel de Nata.

The next day, we rented a car and drove to Sintra to visit the Quinta da Regaleira.

After Sintra, we drove to Nazare. Both Maggie and Sultan had watched a documentary about surfing in Nazare and were eager to see the waves live.

The beach of Nazare is split in 2 by a very small cape. On the south side, Praia de Nazare, the sea is quite with very small waves. On the north side, the sheer force of the waves were impressive, even though it wasn't the season for the strongest waves.

We hung out at the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo for a bit to watch people surf, and then headed out for dinner in the town before driving back to Lisbon.

Maggie left back to Canada the next day, and I biked to Sintra.
