Edinburgh
Walking around, eating, and cozy live music bars
On the 30th of September, we went out for Thai food (which wasn't very good), and then went to Sandy Bells to listen to traditional live music.
It was hard to hear the music, and there was no where to sit. We stayed for a bit and then left to Stramash. Stramash had better music for the end of the night and lots of people jigging.
On October 1st, we walked around Edinburgh during the day, and went to the Royal Mile, where there was a march in favour of the Scottish independence.
At night, we went to the Royal Oak, a cozy bar with live music and, according to Maggie, it was fabulous! I played a tune on the very out of tune piano.
On October 2nd, we went for brunch outdoors. After brunch, it started raining, so we went to a bar that had live music at noon.
We then went for a hike in Holyrood Park, the highest hill in Edinburgh overlooking the city.
After the hike, we booked a walking tour of Edinburgh (old town). We learnt a bit the history of Scotland and the historical context of the current situation with the independence movement.
On October 3rd, it was mostly a logistical day; getting a bike box and securely packing my bike.
Early on October 4th, we took an Uber to the airport to catch a plane to Malaga, Spain.
