Banos

Swinging at the End of the World

On Saturday, I arrived in Banos at around noon and checked in to my hostel. Banos has a "Swing at the End of the World", a giant swing over a cliff. Instead of taking the bus to the swing, I hiked and was rewarded with nice view of the town.

I took the bus back to the hostel. At night, 2 people from Belgium taught us Kaboom, a nice card game involving a bit of memory.

Henry, from the UK, was staying in my room. I was planning on biking the next day and he decided to join. He was nearing the end of his trip and was flying back to England soon. He was telling me about his plans to move in with his Italian girlfriend, but she was stuck in Italy and couldn't fly to England due to COVID restrictions in Europe. This seemed so foreign to me, not knowing that I would be in a similar situation soon!

The next day, we rented bikes and biked the down Ruta de las Cascadas to Puyo, stopping along the way to view waterfalls.

From Puyo, we took the bus back to Banos and hung out in the hostel and played some more Kaboom.

The next day, I took a bus to Latacunga.
